NanoLaserPeel® Treatment Overview

We perform a quick skin health check to ensure you are a candidate for laser resurfacing. You should avoid sunbeds and self-tanning products for at least two weeks before your appointment. While this peel is gentle, arriving with a “clean canvas” (no active infections or sunburn) ensures the most uniform results.

PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT

We conduct a thorough assessment to ensure your suitability. This includes checking for light-sensitive medications and conditions affected by flashing lights, such as photosensitive epilepsy. It’s important to stay out of the sun and refrain from using self-tanning or fake tanning products for at least two to three weeks prior to the treatment. These precautions ensure a safe and effective treatment process.

DURING THE TREATMENT

Your eyes will be protected with safety goggles. A thin layer of skin is precisely ablated using the laser’s computer-guided scanner. You might feel a light “prickling” sensation or a snap, but it is much more comfortable than traditional peels. The entire face can be treated in as little as 15–20 minutes.

POST-TREATMENT

We apply a specialized post-treatment balm to protect the fresh skin. Your skin will feel like a mild sunburn for a few hours. For the first 24 hours, you should avoid heavy sweating and makeup. Applying a high-quality mineral SPF is essential, as your new skin will be more sensitive to light.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

Expect very mild redness and a sensation of tightness. Around day 2 or 3, you may notice a very fine, sandpaper-like texture as the old cells slough off; this is completely normal. Unlike deep chemical peels, there is no large-scale “sheet” peeling, making it the perfect choice for a mid-week refresh or a weekend reset.

Does the NanoLaserPeel® treatment hurt?

Comfort is a priority, and because the NanoLaserPeel® only removes a very thin superficial layer of skin, it is much more comfortable than deeper resurfacing treatments. Most patients describe a light tingling or snapping sensation during the 15-minute procedure. While numbing cream is usually not required, we can apply a light topical anesthetic if you have particularly sensitive skin to ensure a smooth experience.

How much downtime is really involved?

It’s famously known as the “weekend peel” for a reason. You can expect about 24 to 48 hours of downtime. Immediately after, your skin will feel warm and look like a minor sunburn. By the second day, a light “sandpaper” texture may develop as old cells begin to slough off, revealing fresh, luminous skin just in time for the start of your week.

Can I apply makeup immediately after the peel?

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours before applying traditional makeup to allow the new skin barrier to settle.
