PRIOR TO THE TREATMENT

We conduct a thorough skin assessment to ensure MOXI is the perfect fit for you. This includes reviewing your medical history and any recent sun exposure. It is essential to avoid direct sun, tanning beds, or fake tanning products for at least two weeks before your session. We also recommend pausing active skincare ingredients (such as retinoids or strong acids) 3-5 days prior to ensure your skin is in the best condition for the laser.

DURING THE TREATMENT

You will wear protective eye shields throughout the procedure. The MOXI handpiece is guided across the treatment area, delivering gentle micro-pulses of fractional laser energy. You will feel a warming sensation and a light prickly heat, which most patients find very tolerable. The session is quick, typically lasting 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area treated.

POST-TREATMENT

After the session, your skin will feel warm, similar to a mild sunburn, for a few hours. You may notice “MENDs” (Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris) appearing—these are tiny, dark spots that feel like sandpaper. This is a normal part of the healing process. Aftercare involves keeping the skin hydrated, avoiding heat-inducing activities (saunas, intense workouts) for 24-48 hours, and strictly applying a mineral-based SPF to protect your new glow.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE

How many sessions will I need for best results?

While you will notice a “MOXI™ glow” after just one session, we typically recommend an initial series of 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4 to 5 weeks apart. This allows for cumulative improvement in skin texture, tone, and the correction of early signs of sun damage.

What is the downtime after a MOXI™ session?

Downtime is minimal, making it the perfect “lunchtime” laser. Your skin will look flushed (like a mild sunburn) for about 24 hours. Between days 3 and 5, you will notice tiny micro-dots (MENDs) that feel like sandpaper. These naturally flake off by day 7 to reveal radiant skin. You can apply makeup 24 hours after treatment.

Is MOXI™ safe for all skin types and year-round?
